Aloha Ulupalakua Thing Supporter,

Last year marked the 13th anniversary of The Ulupalakua Thing, Maui's premiere agricultural trade show and the longest running agricultural-food festival in Hawaii. Despite the huge success of this event over the years, the event will not take place this year.

Since 1992, The Ulupalakua Thing has served to promote Hawaii's agricultural products and raised approximately $125,000, benefiting the agriculture department and the culinary arts program at Maui Community College, the 4-H clubs on Maui, and the Maui County Farm Bureau.  We are proud to say that although the event is not continuing on in 2006, the Maui Agricultural Foundation is still contributing to local agriculture causes.  The MAF Board is still active in the community and looks forward to carrying on its mission for years to come:  “To nurture agriculture in Hawaii as a thriving industry, an authentic visitor attraction, and a way of life that honors our past and preserves the Islands’ green and healthy environment.”

On behalf of Maui's Winery, Ulupalakua Ranch and the Maui Agricultural Foundation, we want to thank everyone who supported this event over the last 13 years.

Mahalo,

Maui Agricultural Foundation Board of Directors
